本中心技術團隊研發的專利「多糖標誌物在鐵皮石斛鑒定中的應用」，榮獲浸會大學傑出表現獎頒獎典禮2020創新獎，內容如下：

Polysaccharide marker and its use in authentication of valuable Chinese medicines
The inventor's team have developed the polysaccharide marker authentication, which can be successfully applied to the authentication of Chinese medicine including Tiepi Shihu and Cordyceps samples. Compared to conventional methods, this technology showed key features in terms of low cost, high efficiency and high reliability. Five patents are granted in the US, mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Through an extensive research, Dr. Han devoted himself to find a way that can promote the advancement of Chinese medicine as well as its authentication technology. The invention could give social and economic impacts by providing testing and certification service to the community as Hong Kong is both the biggest trading port and the biggest consuming market of Chinese medicines outside mainland China.
This technology has successfully spun off a start- up company, which provides reliable certificates to consumers via long-term commercial testing service to industries. In recognition of Dr. Han's achievement, he won some awards such as a Gold Medal at the 1st Asia Exhibition of Invention in 2019 and was chosen by China Association of Chinese Medicine for inclusion in its 2019 Compilation of Outstanding Research Achievements by Young Scholars of Chinese.
